Why families choose Rabbi Goldberg

Authentic mesorah. A modern standard of care.

Rooted in mesorah

Rabbi Goldberg was born into a distinguished family of mohalim and trained under his great uncle, Rabbi Mordechai Zimmerman z"l, one of the most sought-after mohalim of his generation.

  • Every bris performed al taharas hakodesh, according to the highest halacha standards
  • A training lineage reaching back to the legendary Yerushalmi mohel, Rabbi Yossele Weisberg
  • Trusted to train and mentor the next generation of mohalim

Devoted to your family

A bris should be calm for the baby and calm for the parents. Every detail of Rabbi Goldberg's approach is built around that.

  • Anesthetic ointment applied before the bris, and again on the bandage immediately after
  • Personal visits before the bris and follow-up checks afterward
  • Patient, thorough explanations, and availability by call or text at any time

The chain of tradition

A mesorah handed down, one generation to the next

Bris milah is not learned from a textbook. It is passed from teacher to student, refined over hundreds of brissim. This is the chain behind Rabbi Goldberg's training.

  1. Rabbi Yossele WeisbergThe legendary Yerushalmi mohel
  2. Rabbi Moshe RappaportBaltimore. Close disciple of Rabbi Weisberg
  3. Rabbi Michoel RovinskySt. Louis. Student of Rabbi Rappaport
  4. Rabbi Mordechai Zimmerman z"lHis great uncle, guide, and inspiration
  5. Rabbi Shaima GoldbergOver 750 brissim since 2002
My pediatrician who checked on my son afterwards noted that she had never seen a cleaner cut before, and commended our choice of mohel.

Special situations

When the eighth day needs extra care

Jaundice, preemies, and delayed brissim are handled with patience and medical caution. Rabbi Goldberg monitors jaundice levels and will wait as long as needed. Premature babies can have their bris once they reach 5 pounds and are gaining weight. Every special situation proceeds only with the pediatrician's consent, and Rabbi Goldberg performs brissim for infants up to six months of age. Learn more.
